Abstract
Based on some considerations on hermeneutics and language, the question of relativism is addressed with the specific purpose of showing that the relativist dilemma is pertinent to anthropology and social sciences and that it represents an aporetical, agonistic and insurmountable situation. The result is a certain level of inconsistency, whose importance should not be underestimated. This inconsistency presents challenging problems but does not negate the logical rigor of these disciplines.
