Indexicalidade e Literalidade nas Descrições Sociais

F., Claudio C. Beato

Resumo

The author discusses the possibility that social accounts are literal descriptions of events. The argument is that these accounts furnish instructions for an interpretation of phenomena, and their validity is circumscribed by the "rules" that govern them reflexively, at the same time that they demonstrate the intelligibility of the described actions. Correspondingly, the article moves to discuss the limits of a relativized conception of social accounts that relies on the concepts of reflexivity and indexícality.
