Resumo
This analysis of the Brazilian case was centered around the paradigms concerning the political regime which emerged with the military movement of April, 1964. The study focuses on the formation of this military movement and establishes as a theoretical starting point the crisis of spontaneous development which was defined and accelerated by the beginning of this decade. Taking the disarticulation of the democratic model of power as a natural and immediate result of the crisis of spontaneous development, one can observe a gradual and systematic emergence of a power elite system as a response to the disarticulation of the previous system. The author proceeds to study the actors of the present Brazilian political system taken as the set of behaviors linked to the exercise and institutionalization of the non-conditioned system of decision-making within this social process. Briefly, the paper attemps to investigate and describe the types of power elite regimes which the military intervention of 1964 has provoked: more than an "intermezzo" in the interplay of structural variables in previous models, it probably signifies a new patern in the political system.
