Resumo
The present article on ecopolitics endeavors to establish the relation between ecology and political science and. through the study of Brazil's social formation to explore the institutional difficulties which face the emergence of an ecopolitical alliance or the formulation of environmental and natural resource conservation policies in Brazil. This type of analysis reflects the hypothesis that the ways in which natural and environmental resources are appropriated within any given historical-national situation can help to elucidate the more structural characteristics of a political system, just as examination of the main components of the systems of domination can reveal the content and limits of specific policies in these areas.
